Ministry

Imprint serves the church across Africa by training pastors to strengthen their churches. Learn more about how Imprint fulfils this vision.

Publishing

Our extensive network enables us to make church leadership resources available to churches that would otherwise be unable to obtain them due to financial constraints or a shortfall in availability. We have already secured partnerships with major USA-based ministries such as Crossway, Desiring God, Ligonier, 9Marks, Truth for Life, Reformation Heritage, Christian Focus, and 10 of Those. We print and translate their pastoral resources locally, which has a considerable effect on reducing costs and availability.

Training

Imprint works hard to serve African churches by training church leaders to strengthen their churches. Here are some of the ways in which we accomplish this vision.

Regional workshops

Regional workshops take place in various settings where church leaders receive instruction in various church-related topics and have opportunity to benefit from Q&As on what they have learned.

Annual weekender

The weekender—a partnership between Imprint and Brackenhurst Baptist Church—is a workshop aimed at the elders of a church. Delegates spend the weekend at Brackenhurst to see how a healthy church operates. It starts on Thursday evening at an elders’ meeting, followed by instructional sessions, think tanks, Q&As on the church, and a full day of worship on Sunday. The weekender finishes on Sunday evening. The church leader also receives more than fifteen books on the church.

Preaching workshop

Charles Simeon Trust is an annual preaching workshop where delegates work through a book of the Bible, learning different hermeneutical tools to get to the meaning of the text, the overall meaning of the book, and how to preach and apply the text.

Internship

The internship is a ten-month fulltime programme aimed at church leaders. An intern joins Brackenhurst Baptist Church as a member while studying the nature of the church. He gains exposure to bi-weekly elders’ meetings, reading, discussion, and church life overall. The internship includes the annual Charles Simeon Trust preaching workshop, as well as the yearly Imprint Weekender.

Support a shepherd

Support a Shepherd is a distance learning internship project aimed at helping church leaders who cannot take time out for a fulltime internship. We assist them by sending books and—as they read, write, and reflect on church-related topics—meet with them to discuss how they can apply what they have learned in their churches or plan how to establish or revitalise a church in a healthy way.

Diagnose

Church leaders often contact us with the need to bring about positive changes to their church. We support them in diagnosing where and how those changes should occur. We assist them in developing a plan to implement the changes.
